Summary :
After the death of her mother, Cheryl Strayed goes on a crazy hike, 1700 km on the Pacific Crest Trail without any preparation from the desert of Mojave to the state of Washington. Through her journey, she reminds herself of her past life : her mom passed away from a cancer, her divorce, her past of drug addict, hooking up with every man who wanted to. On her way, she meets some people who helped her to go through this experience. She wanted to face her demons to become a new woman.

The most striking moment was probably when she was in the moutains and she saw a fox. It was like if the spirit of her mom was reincarnated and she was following her to make sure her daughter is okay. Cheryl is not ready to overcome her mother’s death and she’s running after her. When Cheryl arrives to the Bridge of the Gods, the fox is here, watching here and it turns back with a satisfied look on his face as if its work was over.

This movie trace the story of a young woman named Cheryl Strayed. After that her mother died, she realized that she have to find herself. She have lived a hard life since this event : she divorced from her true love, she smoked drugs and she was violate by many mens. She need to change and to begin a new healthy life...
To do that, she will going to do 1700 km throught the United States of America, on a desert all alone. During this exil, she will question the meaning of her life and by the way she met a lot of people who help her to continue the journey. By her side we will see all the courage she has to accomplish this rude challenge.
Finally, we can see that Cherly have had a hard life and a hard trip but tkanks to this travel, she have found the peace.
